Product Information

Full details

The Belstaff Container Overshirt in Atlantic Grey is designed for the modern man who values a blend of rugged utility and refined urban style. Crafted from a compact technical cotton blend, this garment provides excellent breathability and wrinkle resistance for daily wear, while its water-repellent finish offers reliable protection against light showers. While it serves as a versatile layering piece, the tailored regular fit may feel restrictive if you prefer a significantly oversized aesthetic for heavy winter layering.

FAQs

Is this overshirt waterproof?

It is water-repellent, meaning it is designed to withstand light rain and moisture, but it is not a fully waterproof rain jacket for heavy storms.

How does the sizing run?

This overshirt is designed with a regular fit. It fits true to size, but if you intend to wear thick knitwear underneath, you may consider checking the measurements against a garment you already own.

Can I wash this in a washing machine?

Yes, it is machine washable, but we recommend using cold water and a delicate cycle to preserve the fabric technology.

What is the material composition?

It is crafted from a high-performance technical cotton blend that prioritizes both durability and breathability.

Where is the Belstaff logo located?

The iconic Belstaff Phoenix logo patch is positioned on the left sleeve.

Troubleshooting

Water is no longer beading on the surface.

The water-repellent treatment has likely worn off. Re-apply a compatible technical fabric water-repellent spray according to the manufacturer instructions.

Zip feels stiff or sticks.

Ensure the zip track is clean of debris. You can rub a small amount of graphite or candle wax along the teeth to improve sliding performance.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Wrinkle-resistant fabric maintains a sharp look throughout the day
Water-repellent coating provides extra utility in unpredictable weather
Reinforced pocket construction increases long-term durability
Two-way zipper allows for improved movement and ventilation

Cons

Not intended for heavy downpours or extreme weather conditions
Regular fit may not accommodate heavy sweaters for winter layering
Technical fabric requires specific care to maintain the water-repellent coating

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Container Overshirt, follow these care guidelines:

Cleaning: Use a gentle, cold machine wash cycle with mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can degrade the water-repellent coating.
Drying: Air dry the garment on a hanger away from direct heat sources. Do not tumble dry, as high heat can damage the technical fibers.
Re-treating: If you notice water no longer beads on the surface after multiple washes, use a textile-appropriate water-repellent spray to restore the finish.
Storage: Hang in a cool, dry place to maintain the shape of the hood and the structure of the shoulder seams.
