FAQs

What material is the HAY Raw Rug No. 2 made from?

The rug is made from soft wool with a cotton backing.

What are the dimensions of this specific rug?

This variant measures 200cm in width and 300cm in length.

How should I clean spills on the rug?

Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth. For stains, use a mild wool cleaner and a damp cloth, working from the stain's edge inward. Avoid soaking the rug.

Can I use this rug in a high-traffic area?

While durable, it's best suited for moderate to low-traffic areas to maintain its appearance. Regular vacuuming and occasional rotation will help with wear.

Is the Sand color true to the image?

The Sand color is a neutral beige. Due to screen variations and natural material differences, slight variations may occur.

Does the rug come with a rug pad?

A rug pad is not included but is recommended to prevent slipping and protect your floors.

How often should I vacuum the rug?

It is recommended to vacuum regularly, ideally once a week, using a suction-only setting.

Troubleshooting

Rug not lying flat

Allow the rug to rest for 24-48 hours after unrolling. Place heavy objects on curled corners. Consider a rug pad for added stability.

Fibers feel stiff or matted

Ensure you are vacuuming with a suction-only setting and avoiding the beater bar. Excessive moisture can also cause matting; ensure the rug is dried thoroughly if cleaned.

Slight color variation

Natural wool fibers can have slight variations. This is normal and part of the material's character. If the variation is significant, contact customer support.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Unroll the rug carefully in its desired location. Allow it to settle for 24-48 hours to flatten out any creases from packaging. If corners remain curled, place heavy, flat objects on them temporarily.

Compatibility:

Suitable for most indoor floor types, including hardwood, tile, and low-pile carpet. It is recommended for use in living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas. Not recommended for highly humid environments or areas with constant direct sunlight exposure.

Care:

Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly without a beater bar, using a suction-only setting to avoid damaging the wool fibers.
Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Use a mild wool cleaner and a damp cloth for tougher stains, working from the outside of the stain inward. Avoid excessive moisture.
Professional Cleaning: For deep cleaning or if significant stains occur, professional rug cleaning is recommended.
Rotation: Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear.
