Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Measure: Carefully measure the length of your existing window sill. Also, ensure your existing sill's projection allows for the 210mm width to cover it adequately without overhang where unwanted. The bullnose profile is designed to fit over an existing lip.
- Cut: Using a fine-toothed saw or a sharp utility knife, cut the Eurocell cover board to the exact measured length. Use a straight edge for a clean, precise cut.
- Prepare Surface: Clean your existing window sill thoroughly, ensuring it is free of dust, grease, and loose debris. Allow it to dry completely.
- Apply Adhesive: Apply a suitable uPVC-compatible adhesive (e.g., strong grab adhesive or silicone sealant) in beads or a zigzag pattern to the top surface of your existing sill.
- Position & Secure: Carefully place the Eurocell cover board onto the existing sill, ensuring the bullnose profile engages correctly with the front edge. Apply firm, even pressure along the entire length. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Cure Time: Allow the adhesive to cure fully as per the manufacturer's instructions before placing any items on the sill.
Compatibility
This 210mm wide Eurocell cover board is designed for *internal* window sills. It is compatible with most standard internal sill types that have a suitable front lip for the bullnose profile to cover. Ensure your existing sill's depth is no more than 210mm for a flush fit, or less if you intend to trim the back edge.
Care
Maintaining your Eurocell window sill cover is straightforward:
- Cleaning: Wipe down regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soapy water. For stubborn marks, a non-abrasive uPVC cleaner can be used.
- Avoid: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or solvent-based chemicals, as these can damage the uPVC surface.
