FAQs

Are these bars compatible with all cars?

The SURT-055 is a 1.15m fixed-length bar. You must check your vehicle roof width and rail type to ensure compatibility before installation.

Do I need special tools to install these?

The bars come pre-assembled, but you may need basic hand tools to secure the clamps to your specific vehicle rails.

Can these support a full-sized TentBox?

Yes, these bars are reinforced specifically to support the weight and load distribution requirements of TentBox systems.

How often should I check the tightness of the bars?

It is recommended to check the hardware after the first 50 miles of driving and then periodically before every long journey.

What is included in the box?

The package includes two pre-assembled roof bars and all the necessary mounting hardware required for fitting.

Troubleshooting

Bars feel loose after installation

Check all mounting points and ensure the clamping mechanism is fully seated against the vehicle rail; re-tighten bolts to factory specifications.

Excessive wind noise

Verify that the bars are correctly positioned and that all end caps are securely attached to prevent air from whistling through the bar profiles.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Fully pre-assembled for immediate installation
Reinforced steel construction for maximum load safety
Specifically designed for roof-top tent compatibility
Complete kit includes all mounting hardware

Cons

Specific to TentBox and certain vehicle roof configurations
Non-adjustable width may not fit all car models
Heavy-duty profile may increase wind noise compared to aerodynamic bars

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation should be performed on a level surface. Before mounting, verify that your vehicle's roof rails are compatible with the 1.15m length of the SURT-055 bars. Once installed, regularly inspect the mounting bolts every few hundred miles, especially after off-road travel, to ensure no vibrations have loosened the hardware. Keep the bars clean from road salt and debris to prevent corrosion, and ensure that the load is evenly distributed across both bars to maintain the structural safety rating of the vehicle roof.
