FAQs
Is the Joules Heritage Gilet waterproof?
This gilet is designed for warmth rather than water resistance and is best suited for dry or light mist conditions.
Can I adjust the waist for a slimmer fit?
Yes, the gilet features an internal waist adjuster specifically designed to pull in the silhouette.
What is the best way to clean the faux leather trims?
Wipe the trims gently with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid submerging them in water or using harsh cleaning chemicals.
Is the gilet machine washable?
Yes, but it should be washed on a cool, gentle cycle. Always consult the care label inside the garment for specific instructions.
Does this gilet provide enough warmth for winter?
It serves as an excellent mid-layer during winter, but for extreme temperatures, it is recommended to wear it under a heavier waterproof coat.
Troubleshooting
Zip feels stiff or sticks
Ensure the fabric edges are clear of the zipper track and apply a small amount of clear candle wax to the teeth.
Fleece appears matted
Use a specialized fabric comb or a clean, soft-bristled brush to gently lift the fibers.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your gilet retains its shape and texture, follow these care guidelines:
- Washing: Always check the garment's internal care label; generally, use a cool, gentle cycle with mild detergent.
- Drying: Avoid tumble drying, as high heat can damage the fleece fibers and faux leather trims; air dry flat whenever possible.
- Storage: Use the included metal hanging chain to store the gilet on a sturdy coat hook to maintain its structure.
- Compatibility: This piece is best worn over thin to medium-weight base layers. Avoid abrasive textures underneath that might cause pilling to the internal lining.
