Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
- Ensure the wetsuit is the correct size for the child. A proper fit is crucial for warmth and performance.
- Have the child step into the wetsuit, pulling it up evenly over their legs and torso.
- Slide arms into the sleeves, ensuring they are smooth and not twisted.
- Fasten the back-zip closure. The cord should extend to allow the child to zip it up themselves if able, or an adult can assist.
Compatibility:
This wetsuit is designed for general water sports and can be worn for activities such as surfing, bodyboarding, paddleboarding, swimming, and general beach play in temperate to cool water conditions.
Care:
- Rinsing: Always rinse the wetsuit thoroughly with fresh, cold water after each use, both inside and out. This removes salt, chlorine, and sand which can degrade the materials.
- Washing: Hand wash occasionally with a mild, neoprene-specific soap. Do not use harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners.
- Drying: Hang the wetsuit to dry on a wide, padded hanger or a plastic hanger in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight, as UV rays can damage the neoprene and fade colors. Do not tumble dry.
- Storage: Store the wetsuit loosely folded or hung in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight. Avoid storing in plastic bags for extended periods.
- Repairs: Minor tears or seam repairs can often be done with neoprene cement. For larger issues, consult a professional repair service.
