FAQs

Can I use this with 31.8mm handlebars?

No, this stem is specifically designed for 35mm diameter bars. Using a 31.8mm bar would result in an unsafe fit.

What is the rise of this stem?

The Gusset TS Stem features a zero-rise design, keeping your cockpit height neutral.

What material are the bolts made of?

The bolts are made from high-strength Cr-Mo (Chromoly) steel for maximum security.

Is this stem suitable for enduro or downhill riding?

Yes, its high-rigidity design and CNC construction make it well-suited for gravity-fed disciplines like enduro and downhill.

Does the stem come with a top cap?

No, this product includes the stem and faceplate hardware only; a standard headset top cap must be sourced separately.

Troubleshooting

Handlebars slipping or rotating

Ensure bolts are tightened to manufacturer torque specifications and verify that the faceplate is seated evenly against the stem body.

Steering feels twitchy

The 32mm length is very responsive; ensure your headset is properly tensioned to remove any play that might exacerbate steering sensitivity.

Creaking noise from the cockpit

Clean the interface between the bars and the stem. Apply a light layer of assembly grease to the bolt threads, but ensure the clamping surfaces remain clean and dry.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Increased torsional rigidity for better steering precision
Lightweight yet durable CNC 6061 aluminium construction
Compact 32mm design ideal for technical trail and gravity riding
Stiff Upper Lip faceplate improves cockpit reliability

Cons

Zero-rise geometry may be too aggressive for casual riders
Strictly compatible with 35mm diameter handlebars only
Requires precise installation to avoid handlebar stress

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Compatibility: This stem is designed exclusively for 35mm diameter handlebars and 1-1/8 inch threadless steerer tubes.
Installation: Use a torque wrench to tighten the Cr-Mo bolts in an even, cross-pattern sequence to ensure equal pressure on the faceplate.
Maintenance: Periodically check bolt torque to ensure they remain within the recommended specs, especially after initial break-in rides.
Care: Keep the stem clean from mud and grit; avoid using harsh chemicals. A light wipe down with a damp cloth is sufficient to maintain the silver finish.
