Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Stud Check: Before first use, ensure all eight 18mm metal studs and any additional support studs are securely tightened. This is crucial for safety and performance. Use a stud spanner if necessary.
- Lacing: Lace your boots firmly, ensuring they are snug but not uncomfortably tight. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find the best fit for your foot and ankle support.
Compatibility
These Canterbury Stampede Rugby Boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG) pitches. The long metal studs are intended to provide maximum traction in muddy or wet conditions. Using them on hard ground, artificial turf, or dry pitches is not recommended as it can damage the studs, outsole, and potentially lead to discomfort or injury.
Care
- Immediate Cleaning: After every game or training session, clean your boots. Remove excess mud and debris using a brush or cloth.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check and clean around the base of the studs. Ensure no mud is caked around them, which can reduce their effectiveness and accelerate wear. Retighten any loose studs.
- Washing: For deeper cleaning, wash boots with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as this can damage materials.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally. Do not place them on direct heat sources like radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the materials to crack or shrink. Stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures. Consider a boot bag for transport to protect them and keep other gear clean.
- Replacement Studs: Metal studs can wear down or get damaged. Keep a set of replacement 18mm studs and a stud spanner handy.
