FAQs
Can I use these on glossy paper?
These highlighters are designed for porous surfaces like standard paper; they may smudge or fail to dry properly on glossy or coated paper.
Is the ink permanent?
No, the ink is water-based and designed for highlighting text. It is not intended to be permanent or archival.
How do I ensure the highlighter lasts as long as possible?
Always recap the pen tightly after use and store in a cool place, ideally with the tip pointing horizontally.
Does this pack include other colors?
This specific item code (SL60F-F) is for a 12-pack of Orange highlighters. Other colors are available as separate product variants.
Will this work for underlining?
Yes, the chisel tip can be tilted to use the thin edge for precise 1.0mm underlining.
Troubleshooting
Highlighter tip feels dry or faint
Store the pen with the tip facing downward for one hour to allow ink to settle back into the nib.
Ink bleeding through the paper
Apply lighter pressure while highlighting and test on a corner of the page first if using thin paper.
Cap is difficult to remove or replace
Check for dried ink buildup around the cap rim and wipe with a slightly damp cloth.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Comfortable grip shape prevents rolling
- Excellent line width versatility
- Ink flows consistently without skipping
- Suitable for a wide range of paper types
- Reliable, long-lasting ink supply
Cons
- May bleed through very thin paper
- Not intended for glossy or non-porous surfaces
- Ink can dry out if cap is left off for extended periods
Setup, Compatibility & Care
No special setup is required for these highlighters; simply remove the cap and begin marking. For best results, store the highlighters horizontally or with the cap facing downward to maintain consistent ink flow to the nib. Compatibility is highest on standard bond paper, copy paper, and typical textbook pages. To ensure a long lifespan, always replace the cap firmly until it clicks after each use; this prevents the water-based ink from evaporating. If you store the pens for long periods, keep them in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight.
