Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your new Predator Elite Soft Ground boots come ready to play. Before your first use, check that all screw-in studs are securely tightened. It's a good practice to carry a stud wrench (often included or sold separately) to adjust or replace studs as needed during the season.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG) pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or very soft. While you might use them briefly on slightly firmer natural grass, their performance will be compromised, and wear on both the studs and the pitch will increase. Do not use these boots on firm ground (FG), artificial turf (AG), or indoor surfaces (IC), as this can damage the boots and increase the risk of injury.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- After Every Use: Wipe down the boots with a damp cloth to remove mud and dirt. Pay particular attention to the outsole and around the studs.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators), as this can damage the materials. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly inspect screw-in studs for wear and tear. Replace any worn or damaged studs to maintain optimal traction. Ensure they are always tightened before play.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from scuffs and dust.
- Deep Clean: For a more thorough clean, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush for the upper and outsole. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.
