FAQs
Are these boots suitable for artificial grass?
These boots are designed primarily for Firm Ground (FG) natural grass. Using them on artificial surfaces may cause excessive wear on the outsole.
How do I ensure the best fit?
The engineered mesh is designed to adapt to your foot. Ensure you select your standard athletic shoe size and use thin, high-performance football socks.
Can I use these in the rain?
Yes, they are designed for standard grass conditions, but ensure you clean them immediately after playing to prevent moisture from degrading the materials.
How should I store my boots?
Store them in a cool, dry place and use a shoe tree or stuffed newspaper to help them retain their shape between uses.
What is the primary benefit of the extra heel stud?
The extra Speed Control Stud is specifically designed to provide better stability and grip when performing sudden stops or sharp turns.
Troubleshooting
Accumulated mud on the soleplate reducing traction
Use a specialized boot cleaning brush to clear mud from between the T-shaped studs after each match.
Discomfort during initial use
Allow for a gradual break-in period by wearing the boots for shorter training sessions before using them in full matches.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Exceptionally lightweight construction for faster movement
- Superior traction for explosive acceleration
- Precise stud placement aids in sudden directional changes
- Comfortable, adaptive fit provided by the mesh material
Cons
- Minimalist design offers less impact protection than heavier boots
- Best suited for firm ground, may lack performance on soft or muddy pitches
- Requires proper break-in to maximize comfort
Setup, Compatibility & Care
For optimal performance, ensure you are wearing the Furon V9 Elite FG on firm, natural grass surfaces. While these boots are durable, they are not intended for use on artificial turf or extremely muddy pitches. To maintain the structural integrity of the engineered mesh, clean them after each use by removing mud and debris with a soft-bristled brush or damp cloth. Never submerge the boots in water or use harsh detergents. Air dry them naturally at room temperature, keeping them away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can cause the materials to warp or stiffen.
