FAQs

Is this sweater machine washable?

It is recommended to use the delicate cycle with cold water, but hand washing is preferred to maintain the integrity of the knit.

What age group is this sweater designed for?

This garment is specifically sized and designed for the boys' age category.

Can I put this in the dryer?

No, tumble drying can cause significant shrinking and damage to the knit fibers. Always air dry flat.

Does the cable knit pattern make the sweater heavy?

No, it is designed for warmth and comfort, providing insulation without excessive weight.

How should I store the sweater during the off-season?

Store it clean and folded in a cool, dry place, ideally using a breathable garment bag or cedar blocks to deter moths.

Troubleshooting

Pilling or small fuzz balls appearing on the surface

Gently use a fabric shaver or a sweater comb to remove surface pilling without pulling at the fibers.

Sweater has lost its shape

Lay the sweater flat on a towel while damp and gently reshape it to its original dimensions before allowing it to air dry.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Timeless design suitable for multiple settings
  • High-quality construction and attention to detail
  • Versatile layering piece
  • Excellent warmth-to-weight ratio

Cons

  • Requires delicate laundry care
  • Wool materials may pill over time with heavy friction
  • Limited to specific colour palettes

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your cable knit sweater stays in top condition, follow these care guidelines:

  1. Washing: Hand wash or use a delicate cycle on your washing machine with cold water to prevent shrinking.
  2. Detergent: Use a mild wool-specific detergent. Avoid harsh bleaches or fabric softeners.
  3. Drying: Never wring out the sweater. Lay it flat on a clean, dry towel away from direct sunlight or heat sources to air dry.
  4. Storage: Fold the sweater instead of hanging it. Hanging can stretch the shoulders and distort the shape of the cable knit pattern over time.
  5. Compatibility: The crew neck design is highly compatible with button-down shirts, providing a clean collar pop, or can be layered under heavier parkas for extra winter warmth.
