The Snowdon Timber Treated Reject Decking Board is designed for budget-conscious DIY enthusiasts and contractors looking to construct outdoor spaces like decks, patios, and garden structures. Providing a lightweight and cost-effective timber solution, these boards are pressure-treated to resist rot and decay, ensuring durability against the elements. Please note that as part of a reject range, these boards feature natural imperfections such as knots, wane, and surface defects, which contribute to a rustic, unique aesthetic rather than a uniform finish.

They are classified as reject because they may contain natural wood imperfections like knots, wane, or surface marks that do not meet the aesthetic standards for premium, appearance-grade timber.
These boards are 19mm thick and are primarily intended for surface decking and secondary structures; they are not intended to be used as primary structural support beams.
They are pressure-treated for rot resistance, so they do not strictly require painting; however, applying an exterior wood finish can improve their look and longevity.
While the chemicals used in pressure treatment are generally safe, it is recommended to line the timber with a plastic barrier if you are building raised beds specifically for edible plants.
Each individual board measures 2400mm in length.
Ensure proper storage in a dry, flat area before installation. If warping occurs, use extra screws to secure the board to the joists at closer intervals.
Use sharp blades when cutting and pre-drill holes for screws to prevent the wood from splitting.
Ensure adequate drainage under the deck and verify that the boards are not installed perfectly flush, allowing for slight gaps for airflow and expansion.
For optimal results, ensure the supporting joists are spaced appropriately to maintain structural integrity. When cutting, always wear protective gloves and a dust mask to avoid splinters and inhalation of wood dust. Treat any cut ends with a high-quality timber preservative to maintain the integrity of the pressure-treated barrier.
Regular maintenance involves sweeping debris from the surface to prevent moisture buildup and periodically inspecting the boards for any signs of movement. While pressure-treated, applying an exterior wood stain or oil annually can enhance the appearance and further extend the lifespan of the timber against UV exposure and seasonal moisture cycles.
