Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Combining the Layers:
- Lay the outer waterproof jacket flat with the main zipper open.
- Place the fleece jacket inside, aligning the sleeves and collar.
- Locate the small attachment loops (usually near the cuffs and collar) on both jackets and secure them with the corresponding snaps or toggles.
- Zip the main front zippers of both jackets together. Some jackets may have an internal zipper to fully integrate the fleece.
Separating the Layers:
- Unzip the main front zipper.
- Undo any attachment loops or internal zippers connecting the two jackets.
- Carefully pull the fleece jacket out from the outer shell.
Compatibility
This jacket is designed for adult females. While the product is a UK size 10 in Black, Karrimor offers a range of sizes and colors. Always consult the specific size chart to ensure the best fit for your body measurements.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your jacket:
- Washing: Both components are machine washable. It is generally recommended to wash the outer shell and fleece separately.
- Outer Jacket: Use a technical wash designed for waterproof breathable fabrics. Wash on a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can impair the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating and breathability.
- Fleece Jacket: Wash with similar colors on a gentle cycle. Avoid high heat.
- Drying: Air dry both components away from direct heat. Tumble drying on a very low heat setting can sometimes help reactivate the DWR coating on the outer shell, but check the care label first.
- Ironing: Do not iron the waterproof outer jacket as high heat can damage the membrane. Fleece can typically be ironed on a very low setting if needed, but often doesn't require it.
- Re-proofing: Over time, the DWR coating on the outer jacket will wear off, causing water to 'wet out' (soak in) rather than bead up. You can restore water repellency using a spray-on or wash-in re-proofing treatment designed for technical waterproof clothing.
