Product Information

Full details

The Tile Rite Big Spin Deep Hurricane Tile Levelling System is an essential tool for professional tilers and DIY enthusiasts who want to achieve perfectly flush surfaces when installing large-format tiles. Its primary benefit is the prevention of lippage by securely locking adjacent tiles in alignment during the adhesive curing process, though users should note that the system requires careful calculation of base quantities to avoid running out mid-installation.

FAQs

Can I use this on LVT flooring?

Yes, the system is compatible with LVT as long as the thickness requirements are met.

Are the spacer bases reusable?

The spacer bases are designed to be part of the joint; the caps are the primary reusable component.

Does this require a special tensioning tool?

No, this system is designed for manual operation without special tools.

What is the maximum tile thickness?

The system supports tiles up to 25mm in thickness.

Can I use this on walls?

Yes, it is perfectly suited for both floor and wall applications including kitchen splashbacks.

Troubleshooting

Cap is difficult to twist off after curing

Ensure adhesive has not seeped over the threads of the base. Gently clear away excess mortar before the final cure.

Tiles still look uneven

Verify that your adhesive bed is even; the leveling system adjusts the surface plane but cannot compensate for large variations in mortar depth under the tile.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly reduces tile lippage for a smooth finish
Reusable components save money on repeat projects
No expensive tools required for installation
Versatile for use on both walls and floors

Cons

Starter kit may not be enough for large-scale rooms
Requires careful planning to ensure enough bases are available
Not suitable for tile thicknesses exceeding 25mm

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To use the system, ensure your subfloor is level and your adhesive bed is consistent. Place the spacer bases at regular intervals along the edge of your tiles. Ensure the tiles do not exceed the 25mm maximum thickness capacity. After removing the caps post-installation, clean them of any residual adhesive to ensure they thread smoothly for the next use. If you are working on a vertical wall, ensure the weight of the tiles is supported until the initial set occurs to prevent sagging before the system is tightened.
