FAQs

Can I adjust the shelf heights?

No, the Alice Springs bookcase features five fixed shelves for added structural stability.

What are the exact dimensions?

The bookcase is 49.8 cm wide, 214.3 cm high, and 34.9 cm deep.

Does this bookcase require wall anchoring?

Yes, due to its significant height, we strongly recommend using wall-anchoring hardware to ensure safety and stability.

Is the beige finish matte or glossy?

The finish is designed to be a subtle, neutral tone that fits a modern aesthetic, typically presenting a smooth, semi-matte appearance.

How many items can I store on each shelf?

While the weight limit depends on the distribution of items, the shelves are designed to hold standard books and decorative items. Avoid placing exceptionally heavy loads on a single shelf.

Troubleshooting

The unit feels wobbly after assembly.

Ensure all cam locks and screws are fully tightened. Check that your floor is level; if not, use furniture shims under the base.

Surfaces have minor scuffs or dust.

Gently clean with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use furniture polish unless it is specifically rated for laminate or wood-veneer finishes.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent for utilizing unused vertical wall space
  • Slim 49.8 cm footprint fits easily into tight rooms
  • Neutral beige finish complements most home decor
  • Generous 214.3 cm height offers significant storage density

Cons

  • Shelves are fixed and cannot be adjusted for height
  • Requires floor space for a tall unit, may require wall anchoring for safety
  • Narrow width may not fit wider display items

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To assemble the Alice Springs bookcase, ensure you have a flat, clean surface to prevent scratching the finish. Because of its 214.3 cm height, it is highly recommended to use the provided wall-mounting hardware to prevent tipping, especially in households with children or pets. When maintaining the unit, simply wipe the beige finish with a soft, lint-free damp cloth to remove dust. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scouring pads, as these may damage the surface coating. Ensure the unit is placed on a level floor to maintain the structural integrity of the fixed shelving.
