FAQs

Can I use this primer on wood other than MDF?

While specifically designed for MDF, it can be used on other wooden surfaces. However, results may vary. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.

How many coats of primer do I need?

Generally, one coat is sufficient. However, for porous surfaces or if a deeper color is required, a second coat may be necessary.

What type of paint can I use over this primer?

You can use both water-based and solvent-based paints over this primer.

How do I clean up spills?

Clean up spills immediately with water while the primer is still wet.

Is sanding necessary before applying the primer?

Lightly sanding the surface can improve adhesion, especially on older or previously painted MDF.

Can this primer be used outdoors?

Yes, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Troubleshooting

Primer is not drying properly.

Ensure adequate ventilation and check the room temperature and humidity levels. Allow more time for drying.

Primer appears uneven or patchy.

Ensure the surface is properly prepared. Apply a second thin coat of primer.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Surface Preparation: Ensure the MDF surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and loose particles. Lightly sand the surface if necessary for better adhesion.
Application: Stir the primer thoroughly before use. Apply a thin, even coat using a brush, roller, or spray gun. Avoid applying too much product at once to prevent runs or sags.
Drying Time: The primer is quick drying, but allow sufficient time to dry before applying a topcoat. Drying times can vary depending on environmental conditions (temperature, humidity).
Compatibility: This primer is compatible with water-based and solvent-based topcoats. Always check the topcoat manufacturer's instructions for compatibility and application guidelines.
Clean Up: Clean brushes, rollers, and equipment with water immediately after use.
