Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & Installation
- Pre-Drilling: For optimal results and to prevent material damage, always pre-drill a pilot hole of the appropriate diameter (typically slightly smaller than the screw core diameter, consult product packaging for exact recommendation) into both the frame and the concrete/masonry.
- Driver Bit: Use a compatible Torx driver bit that fits snugly into the screw head. This ensures maximum torque transfer and minimizes cam-out.
- Driving: Drive the screw directly into the pre-drilled hole. The high-low thread design will effectively cut into both materials, creating a strong anchor. No need for plastic plugs or anchors.
- Close-to-Edge Fixing: Thanks to their stress-free design, these screws are suitable for fixing close to the edges of frames or masonry without causing cracks or splitting, provided appropriate pilot holes are drilled.
Compatibility
- Materials: Designed for secure fixing into concrete, brick, and wood.
- Applications: Ideal for window frame installations, door frame installations, and general heavy-duty fastening in DIY projects, joinery, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Tools: Requires a standard power drill for pre-drilling and a compatible Torx driver bit.
Care
The Zinc Yellow Passivated (ZYP) finish provides exceptional corrosion resistance. For long-term performance and to maintain the aesthetic finish, store unused screws in a dry environment away from moisture and corrosive agents. When installed, the coating helps them withstand typical indoor and outdoor conditions, but they are not designed for extreme marine or highly acidic/alkaline environments without additional protection.
