Birko-Flor® is a durable, soft synthetic material used by Birkenstock that closely resembles the look and feel of genuine leather, offering an alternative for those who prefer non-leather materials or need a resilient upper.

Ensure there is a small gap (about a finger's width) between the front of your toes and the end of the sandal, and a similar gap behind your heel. The straps should comfortably secure your foot without digging in.

While the EVA outsole is water-resistant, the cork footbed and suede insole are not designed for prolonged submersion. It's best to avoid wearing them in water to preserve the integrity and longevity of the materials.

The break-in period can vary from person to person, but generally, it takes a few days to a couple of weeks of intermittent wear for the cork footbed to mold to the foot's unique shape, leading to optimal comfort.

Due to the two adjustable straps on the forefoot and the adjustable heel strap, the Milano AS can accommodate a range of foot widths reasonably well, allowing for a customized fit.

Wipe the cork footbed with a damp cloth. For tougher dirt, use a mild soap solution sparingly, then wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Allow it to air dry completely away from direct heat.

The 'AS' designation often refers to specific features or a particular model variation within Birkenstock's line, such as the inclusion of the ankle strap for added support.

The Birko-Flor® material and cork footbed may require a break-in period. Wear the sandals for short periods initially and gradually increase wear time. Adjusting the straps can also improve comfort.

Ensure the metal pin buckles are properly aligned. If the straps are very new, they might be a little stiff. Gently work the buckle to loosen or tighten. Ensure the Velcro on the heel strap is clean for optimal grip.

Ensure the footbed and feet are dry before wearing. If the footbed becomes damp from sweat, allow it to air dry. Occasional cleaning of the footbed with a damp cloth can help restore grip.

Check that the Velcro fastening is clean and free of debris. Ensure the strap is pulled snugly around the heel for maximum effectiveness.
