Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Hillwalker boots, start with a gradual break-in period; wear them on short walks before attempting multi-day treks to let the leather adapt to your foot shape. Ensure the boots are clean before storage; remove mud using a soft brush and lukewarm water. Avoid drying them next to direct heat sources like radiators, as this can cause the leather to crack and compromise the waterproof integrity. For the outer leather, apply a suitable waterproofing wax or treatment periodically to maintain the water-repellent finish. Always check that your laces are tightened securely to prevent heel slippage and blisters during long descents.
