Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Measure: Carefully measure the length of your existing internal window sill. If your sill is longer than the 1-meter board, you may need to join multiple boards.
- Clean: Ensure your existing window sill is clean, dry, and free from dust, debris, or loose paint.
- Cut: Using a fine-toothed saw (like a uPVC saw), precisely cut the Eurocell cover board to the required length. If cutting angles, use a miter box for accuracy.
- Test Fit: Before applying adhesive, place the cut board over your existing sill to ensure a snug and accurate fit.
- Apply Adhesive: Apply a suitable strong grab adhesive (Info needed: Recommended adhesive type, e.g., 'solvent-free grab adhesive' or 'silicone adhesive') to the top surface of your existing sill where the cover board will rest, and along the inside of the 'Hockey Nose' profile.
- Install: Carefully position the cover board over the existing sill, pressing down firmly to ensure good adhesion. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Secure (Optional): For added security, some installers may use small pins or screws into the existing sill, ensuring they are countersunk and filled.
- Cure: Allow the adhesive to cure fully according to the manufacturer's instructions before placing any weight or objects on the new sill.
Compatibility
This 9mm thick Eurocell cover board is primarily designed for internal window sills with a front lip that can be engaged by its 'Bullnose' profile. It is compatible with most standard internal timber or tiled sills.
Product Care
- Cleaning: To maintain its pristine appearance, simply wipe the UPVC sill cover board with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent or soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.
- Stains: For tougher stains, a specialized UPVC cleaner can be used, following the product's instructions.
- Avoid Heavy Impact: While durable, excessive force or heavy impacts can still cause damage to the UPVC.
