Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite FG boots is straightforward. Simply ensure you have the correct size for a snug fit. Due to their moulded design, they may feel tight initially but will adapt to your foot with a short break-in period.
Compatibility
- Surface: These boots are exclusively designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This refers to natural grass pitches that are dry and firm. Using them on artificial turf (AG) or soft ground (SG) surfaces is not recommended as it can compromise performance and durability, and may void any warranty.
- Foot Type: The moulded design aims for a perfect fit, but players with very wide feet might find them snug initially. Consider trying them on to ensure comfort.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: After every game or practice, wipe down the synthetic upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Remove Excess Mud: For heavy mud, gently brush off loose dirt using a soft brush or old toothbrush.
- Air Dry: Always allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage the materials.
- Avoid Submerging: Do not submerge the entire boot in water.
- Store Properly: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Using boot trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape.
- Refer to Product Label: Always consult the specific care instructions on your boot's internal product label for any unique recommendations.
