FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for running?

While named 'Run 70s', these are lifestyle trainers intended for casual wear and walking, not for athletic training or long-distance running.

How do I determine the right size?

The series follows standard UK sizing. We recommend choosing your typical adidas size for a regular fit.

Can these be machine washed?

Machine washing is not recommended as it may damage the leather overlays and glue bonds. Manual spot cleaning is best.

What is the primary difference between the 2.0 and original versions?

The 2.0 series features updated materials and refinements to the midsole comfort compared to the original models.

Does the shoe provide arch support?

The Cloudfoam midsole provides general comfort and cushioning, but it does not offer the specialized orthopedic arch support found in dedicated performance shoes.

Troubleshooting

Laces coming undone during activity

Use a double-knot technique or replace with high-friction cotton laces.

Interior starting to hold odors

Remove the insoles to air dry and use a fabric-safe sneaker deodorant.

Surface dirt accumulation on nylon

Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove dry debris before wiping with a damp cloth.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent cushioning from Cloudfoam technology
Versatile retro design that pairs well with casual outfits
High-quality leather and nylon construction for durability
Reliable traction provided by the rubber outsole

Cons

Not intended for high-intensity running or heavy sports
Material may require protection sprays for wet weather
Limited to lifestyle and casual use rather than performance training

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your trainers last, follow these guidelines:

Setup: Adjust the lace closure to your desired tension before first use to break in the shape to your foot.
Compatibility: These shoes are optimized for daily casual wear. They are not suitable for trail running or high-impact gym sessions.
Care: Clean leather and nylon surfaces using a soft brush or a damp cloth. Avoid submerging the shoes in water or using harsh detergents. For persistent stains on the leather, use a mild leather cleaner. Allow the shoes to air dry at room temperature away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can warp the materials.
