FAQs

Is glue required to build this kit?

No, the model is designed to be assembled using only screws and plug-in components.

What is the age recommendation for this calendar?

This kit is intended for budding engineers, generally suitable for ages 10 and up due to the precision required for assembly.

Does the excavator come with the required tools?

Yes, the box includes all the necessary tools for assembly.

How do the hydraulics actually work?

The system uses liquid pressure; when you press the syringe, fluid moves through the tubes to actuate the arm pistons.

Can I customize the excavator?

Yes, the kit includes a set of stickers that allow you to customize the appearance of the finished model.

Troubleshooting

Hydraulic arm is jerky or unresponsive

Check the fluid lines for trapped air bubbles and ensure all tubing connections are fully sealed.

Tracks are not moving smoothly

Verify that the track links are not obstructed by debris and that the tension on the chain drive is even on both sides.

Difficulty connecting parts

Check the assembly manual to ensure you are using the correct screw size, as some look similar but have different thread counts.

Pros and Cons

Pros

No glue or soldering tools required
Engaging educational experience for STEM learning
High-quality 1:24 scale detailing
Clear step-by-step assembly instructions provided

Cons

Requires careful handling of small fluid-filled components
Assembly requires consistent patience over 24 days
Plastic parts may be fragile if force is applied incorrectly

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To begin your project, ensure you have a clean workspace with good lighting. Keep the 24 individual packaging segments organized to avoid losing small screws or connectors. When handling the hydraulic tubes, ensure they are securely seated to prevent air bubbles or leaks. Periodically check that all screw connections remain tight as you finalize the build. When not in use, store the model away from direct heat sources to prevent the plastic or hydraulic tubing from becoming brittle or warping.
