FAQs
Are these shoes good for running?
The Metcon series is designed primarily for stability and weightlifting. While they can handle short bursts of movement, they are not recommended for long-distance running.
How do I determine my size?
These trainers follow standard adult UK sizing. We recommend checking your current Nike footwear size for the best fit.
Can I use these for heavy lifting?
Yes, the flat, stable sole is specifically engineered to provide a firm base for heavy compound movements like squats and deadlifts.
How should I clean the desert khaki fabric?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive scrubbers to prevent damaging the fabric surface.
Do these shoes provide arch support?
The Metcon line features a supportive, structured design that provides a neutral, stable platform for most foot types.
Troubleshooting
Foot slipping inside the shoe during lateral moves
Re-lace the trainers using the top eyelets to create a more secure heel lock.
Surface debris stuck in the outsole pattern
Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove dirt or gravel to maintain optimal traction.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Exceptional platform stability for lifting
- High-durability materials for long-term use
- Excellent grip across various gym floor surfaces
- Secure lockdown fit for agility training
Cons
- Not intended for long-distance road running
- Firmer cushioning may be less comfortable for casual walking
- Style-specific colourway may not suit all personal preferences
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Nike Metcon trainers, it is recommended to wear them with appropriate athletic socks that manage moisture. While the shoe requires no mechanical setup, ensure the laces are tightened adequately to utilize the internal lockdown support. For cleaning, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid machine washing or drying, as high heat can degrade the adhesives and structural foam. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
