FAQs
What is the total capacity of this bin?
This bin has a 4.5-liter capacity, which is ideal for small bathroom or office waste.
Do I have to use Simplehuman liners?
While the bin is designed for Simplehuman Code A liners for the best fit, other liners of a similar size may be used, though they might not fit as cleanly.
Is the inner bucket dishwasher safe?
We recommend hand washing the inner bucket with warm water and mild soap to preserve its longevity.
How long is the warranty?
This product comes with a 10-year warranty period.
Does the lid stay open on its own?
No, this is a step-pedal bin, meaning the lid will close once pressure is removed from the pedal.
Troubleshooting
The lid does not close slowly or silently.
Check if the lid shox mechanism has been obstructed or if the hinge needs a quick wipe to remove any debris affecting the motion.
The liner is visible outside the rim of the bin.
Ensure you are using the correct Code A liner and verify that the liner is properly tucked into the inner bucket handle loops.
The pedal feels stiff.
Check the underside of the unit for any dust or debris build-up that may be interfering with the mechanical linkage.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Extremely durable pedal mechanism built for heavy use
- Silent-close lid prevents noise and slamming
- Compact size is perfect for bathroom or office settings
- Removable inner bucket makes cleaning simple and hygienic
- Compatible with custom-fit liners for a cleaner look
Cons
- Small 4.5L capacity is not suitable for large amounts of waste
- Requires specific Code A liners for the best fit
- Cannot accommodate bulky items due to the small opening
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up the bin is straightforward: simply place the removable inner bucket inside the steel housing. To ensure the best fit, pull the liner over the edges of the inner bucket so no bag is visible from the outside when the lid is closed.
Compatibility: This model is specifically engineered for use with Simplehuman Code A liners. While standard grocery bags may fit, they may bunch up or slip, defeating the purpose of the neat, custom-fit design.
Care Instructions:
- Exterior: Clean the matte black steel with a soft microfiber cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the finish.
- Interior: The inner bucket can be removed and rinsed with warm water and mild detergent. Ensure it is completely dry before placing it back into the steel casing.
