FAQs
Is this stylus compatible with cartridges other than Reloop OM Black?
Yes, this stylus is designed to fit all Ortofon/Reloop Concorde & OM models.
What is the recommended tracking force?
The recommended tracking force is 2g, with an acceptable range of 1.75g to 2.5g.
What type of stylus profile does this have?
This stylus features a spherical profile.
How often should I replace the stylus?
Stylus replacement frequency depends on usage. For heavy DJ use, consider replacement every 6-12 months, or when you notice a decline in sound quality or increase in surface noise.
Can I use this for casual listening as well as DJing?
While excellent for DJing due to its durability and skip resistance, the spherical profile is optimized for performance. For critical listening, other stylus types might offer more detail.
What is the benefit of a spherical stylus profile for DJs?
A spherical stylus profile offers better groove stability and resistance to skipping, which is crucial for mixing, scratching, and high-energy performances.
Troubleshooting
No sound or distorted audio
Ensure the stylus is correctly seated in the cartridge. Check that the tonearm wires are properly connected to the turntable's headshell. Verify the tracking force is set correctly.
Stylus skipping on records
Increase the tracking force slightly within the recommended range (1.75g - 2.5g). Ensure the turntable is on a stable, level surface and that anti-skate settings are appropriate.
Premature stylus wear
Always use clean records. Avoid excessive downward pressure when placing the stylus on the record. Ensure the tracking force is within the recommended range.
