FAQs

Is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 waterproof?

The Galaxy Watch 7 is water-resistant. It can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in shallow water. However, it is not recommended for high-impact water sports, diving, or exposure to high-pressure water.

Can I use this watch with an iPhone?

No, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is primarily designed for use with Android smartphones. Full functionality and pairing capabilities are not available with iOS devices.

How do I set up the LTE feature?

After pairing your watch with your Android phone via the Galaxy Wearable app, the app will guide you through the process of activating an eSIM for your watch with your mobile carrier. This typically requires an active cellular plan compatible with smartwatches.

What health metrics does it track?

The Galaxy Watch 7 tracks a range of health metrics including heart rate, sleep stages, daily steps, calories burned, and various workout types. It also provides insights into stress levels.

What is the typical battery life?

Battery life varies significantly based on usage. With moderate use and without heavy LTE activity, it can last a full day or more. Frequent use of GPS, LTE calls, and intensive apps will reduce battery life. > Info needed: specific battery life estimates are not provided and vary greatly by use case.

Can I make calls and send texts without my phone nearby?

Yes, with the LTE version of the Galaxy Watch 7 and an active cellular plan, you can make and receive calls, and send/receive texts directly from your watch, even if your phone is not with you.

Troubleshooting

LTE not connecting or making calls/texts without phone.

Ensure your LTE plan is active and provisioned for your watch through your carrier. Check the 'Mobile networks' setting in the Galaxy Wearable app to ensure it's enabled. Verify strong cellular signal in your area.

Battery draining faster than expected.

Reduce screen brightness, disable 'Always On Display', limit background app refresh, and turn off Wi-Fi or GPS when not in use. Frequent LTE usage will consume more power. Consider a power-saving mode.

Notifications not appearing on the watch.

Check notification settings in the Galaxy Wearable app under 'Watch settings' > 'Notifications'. Ensure the specific apps you want notifications from are enabled. Also, check your phone's notification settings to ensure apps are allowed to send notifications.

Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

  1. Charge Your Watch: Before first use, fully charge your Galaxy Watch 7 using the provided charging cable.
  2. Download Galaxy Wearable App: On your compatible Android smartphone, download and install the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app from the Google Play Store.
  3. Pair Your Watch: Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. Turn on your watch and follow the on-screen prompts on both devices to initiate the pairing process via Bluetooth.
  4. Set Up LTE: Once paired, the app will guide you through setting up your cellular plan on the watch. This typically involves connecting to your carrier's service. You may need your carrier account information.

Compatibility

  • Smartphone: Primarily compatible with Android smartphones running Android 10.0 or higher and with 1.5GB of RAM or more. Best experience is typically with Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
  • LTE Carrier: For standalone LTE features, you need a compatible cellular plan from a supported carrier in your region. Check with your mobile service provider.

Care

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe your watch and strap with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Water Resistance: The watch is designed with water resistance for splashes and brief immersion. Avoid exposing it to high-velocity water, hot water, or excessive depths. Rinse with fresh water after exposure to saltwater.
  • Charging: Use only official Samsung charging accessories. Avoid over-bending the charging cable or exposing it to extreme temperatures.
  • Software Updates: Keep your watch's software updated through the Galaxy Wearable app to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
