Compatibility
These shoes are designed for adult males (UK Size 10) and are highly compatible with a variety of wardrobe styles:
- Apparel: Pairs excellently with denim (jeans, jackets), chinos, corduroys, linen trousers, and even relaxed tailoring like unstructured blazers.
- Occasions: Ideal for casual, smart-casual, and semi-formal settings. Less suited for formal events or highly athletic activities.
Care Instructions
Proper care is essential to maintain the appearance and longevity of your suede Wallabees and their unique crepe soles.
- Suede Protection: Before first wear, and regularly thereafter, apply a high-quality suede and nubuck protector spray. This creates a barrier against water and stains.
- Regular Cleaning: Use a suede brush (often with rubber or brass bristles) to gently remove loose dirt and dust. Brush in one direction to maintain the nap.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, use a specialized suede eraser to gently rub away marks. For tougher stains, a suede cleaning solution applied with a clean cloth or sponge can be used, following product instructions carefully.
- Drying: If shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry *naturally* at room temperature, away from direct heat sources.
- Crepe Sole Care: The crepe sole can pick up dirt and darken over time. Gently wipe the sole with a *slightly damp cloth* (water only) to remove surface grime. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the natural rubber. For deeper cleaning, some enthusiasts carefully use fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 600-800 grit) to lightly buff away the outer layer of dirt, but this should be done with extreme caution and sparingly.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees to help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Wet Conditions: Suede is not waterproof. Avoid wearing your Wallabees in heavy rain, snow, or muddy conditions to prevent permanent damage and staining.
