Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Safety First: Always switch off the main power supply at the consumer unit (fuse box) before beginning installation. If unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and inspect for any damage. Ensure all components listed in the instruction manual are present.
- Mounting Bracket: Secure the light's mounting bracket to the ceiling joist or appropriate ceiling support using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the live (brown), neutral (blue), and earth (green/yellow) wires from your ceiling supply to the corresponding terminals on the light fitting. Ensure all connections are secure and correctly insulated.
- Attach Fixture: Carefully lift the light fitting and secure it to the mounting bracket, ensuring no wires are pinched.
- Install Shades and Bulbs: Attach the long shades to the curved arms as instructed. Insert the appropriate bulbs (not usually included) into the lamp holders.
Compatibility
This ceiling light is designed for standard domestic electrical wiring systems. It is compatible with most E14 (small Edison screw) or G9 (capsule) bulbs, depending on the specific lamp holder type (Info needed: confirm bulb type). Always use bulbs within the specified wattage limit to prevent damage.
Care
- Cleaning: To maintain the brushed gold finish, gently wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed immediately by a dry cloth to prevent water spots. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Bulb Replacement: Always switch off the power before replacing bulbs. Allow old bulbs to cool completely before handling.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all electrical connections and mounting points to ensure they remain secure.
