Care
Proper care is essential to maintain the appearance and longevity of your suede Wallabees and their distinctive crepe soles.
- Initial Protection: Before first wear, apply a high-quality suede and nubuck protector spray. Follow the product instructions for application and drying time. This creates a barrier against water and stains.
- Regular Cleaning (Suede):
- For dry dirt or scuffs, gently brush the suede with a dedicated suede brush (often with brass or nylon bristles) in one direction to lift dirt and restore the nap.
- For stubborn marks, use a suede eraser to rub away the stain, then brush gently.
- Avoid water as much as possible. If wet, pat dry immediately with a clean cloth and allow to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- Regular Cleaning (Crepe Sole):
- The natural crepe sole can pick up dirt and debris. To clean, use a damp cloth to gently wipe away surface grime. For stickier residue, a specialized crepe brush or a clean, soft eraser can be effective.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners which can damage the natural rubber.
- Storage: Store your Wallabees in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid: Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Avoid exposing them to extreme heat or prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade the suede or stiffen the crepe sole.
