Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are laced securely but comfortably. The knitted low-cut collar should provide a snug fit around your ankle without feeling restrictive.
- Stud Check: Before the first use and every subsequent game or practice, manually check all screw-in studs to ensure they are tightly secured. Use a stud key if necessary to tighten any loose studs.
- Break-In: While designed for comfort, new boots may benefit from a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions before intense matches to allow them to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These Puma Ultra 5 Match MxSG Football Boots are specifically designed for mixed/soft natural grass pitches. The stud configuration is optimized for deep penetration and aggressive traction on damp or muddy surfaces. They are not recommended for use on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor courts, as this can lead to accelerated wear and tear on both the boots and the playing surface, and may also affect performance and comfort.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: After every use, especially on muddy pitches, remove excess mud and dirt from the boots using a soft brush (like a toothbrush) and a damp cloth. Clean the upper, soleplate, and especially around the studs.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources such as radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials and adhesives. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in damp bags or direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly inspect the screw-in studs for wear or damage. Replace any worn or lost studs promptly to maintain optimal traction and balance during play.
