The Maco Rail Inline Espag Window Lock is a high-security solution designed for homeowners and locksmiths looking to upgrade window hardware to meet PAS 24 security standards without complex installation. Its core benefit is the unique reverse-action twin cam mechanism that resists forced entry by clamping the frame effectively, though it is important to verify your specific eurogroove size and backset compatibility before purchasing to ensure a proper fit.

No, this lock is designed to meet PAS 24 security standards without the need for additional shootbolt extensions.

Yes, the eccentric cams allow you to turn the locking points to increase or decrease compression against the frame.
While technically possible for those with window hardware experience, we recommend professional installation to ensure the security rating is maintained.
It features the Silverlook-Evo finish, which is specially formulated for high corrosion resistance.
Check the compression setting on the cams; they may be set too tightly. Adjust the eccentric cam to reduce pressure.
Adjust the eccentric mushroom cams to increase compression, ensuring a tighter seal against the weather gasket.
Verify that you have the correct rail length and backset for your window profile. Ensure the striker plates are correctly aligned with the cam positions.
Installation of the Maco Rail requires measuring your existing backset (the distance from the faceplate edge to the center of the handle spindle) and the overall length of the rail. Since this is an inline unit, ensure the gear box is positioned correctly within your window profile's eurogroove. To maintain the mechanism, clean the metal surface periodically to remove debris and apply a light machine oil or PTFE-based lubricant to the moving cams annually to ensure smooth operation. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that may damage the Silverlook-Evo corrosion-resistant coating.
