Product Information
Full details
The Trakker Tempest RS Brolly Skull Cap is designed for dedicated anglers who utilize the Tempest RS shelter system and seek improved climate control and weather protection. Its primary benefit is the significant reduction of internal condensation while providing additional shade and coverage during harsh weather, though users should note it is a specialized accessory requiring an existing Tempest RS brolly base unit to function. Crafted from premium materials, this cover enhances both the longevity of your shelter and your overall comfort on the bank.

FAQs
Is this compatible with older Tempest Brolly models?
No, this specific version is designed exclusively for the Tempest RS series.
Does the skull cap affect the breathability of the shelter?
The Aquatexx fabric is highly breathable, and the dual-layer gap actually promotes better airflow, which helps prevent condensation.
Can I leave the skull cap on when folding the shelter down?
It is recommended to remove the skull cap before packing away the main shelter to ensure everything fits into the storage bag properly.
What should I do if the material gets dirty?
Use a soft brush to remove dried mud or a damp cloth to wipe down the surface. Never use harsh chemical cleaners.
Does it provide complete blackout for sleeping?
It significantly reduces light penetration due to the black-out pigment in the fabric, creating a much darker environment than a standard shelter.
Troubleshooting
Water pooling on top of the cap
Adjust the tension of the attachment points to ensure the fabric is pulled tight and the guttering is angled correctly.
Difficulty fitting the cover over the frame
Ensure the Tempest RS Brolly frame is fully expanded and locked into position before attempting to attach the skull cap.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Significantly reduces condensation within the brolly
- Provides extra shade during intense sun exposure
- Enhanced weather protection with improved peak length
- Features high-quality, breathable Aquatexx fabric
- Easy to secure with integrated magnetic rod holders
Cons
- Adds extra weight and pack size to your gear
- Compatible only with specific Tempest RS brolly models
- Requires additional setup time compared to the brolly alone
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install, drape the Skull Cap over the top of your existing Tempest RS Brolly and attach the fixation points as indicated in the shelter's frame layout. Ensure the cap is centered to prevent uneven tension on the fabric. Compatibility is exclusive to the Tempest RS series; verify your model number before purchase. For care, always ensure the material is completely dry before packing it away into your carryall to prevent mold or mildew growth. Clean the fabric using a soft brush or a damp cloth with mild soap only; avoid harsh detergents or high-pressure washing, which could compromise the water-repellent coating.
