FAQs

Does this door come pre-finished?

No, this model is supplied unfinished, requiring you to apply your own paint, stain, or varnish.

Can I trim the door to fit a smaller opening?

Yes, the door features 20mm lippings on the edges which allow for minor trimming for a perfect fit.

Is this door suitable for bathrooms?

It can be used, but you must ensure the door is properly sealed on all sides, including the bottom, with a high-quality moisture-resistant finish.

What is the benefit of an engineered core?

An engineered core provides more stability than solid timber, reducing the risk of warping or bowing over time while improving thermal and sound insulation.

What material is the surface made of?

The door is crafted using high-quality American white oak veneers.

Troubleshooting

Door is binding or sticking in the frame

Check if the hinges are tightened properly. If the fit is still tight, identify the binding edge and use a plane to remove a small amount of material from the 20mm lipping.

Wood appears dry or patchy after staining

Ensure the wood was sanded evenly before application. Apply a high-quality primer or wood conditioner to help the stain absorb uniformly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Durable engineered core construction
Classic 6-panel design matches most interiors
Generous 20mm lippings allow for easy installation adjustments
Excellent natural sound and thermal insulation properties

Cons

Supplied unfinished, requiring manual sealing and staining
Heavy construction may require assistance during hanging
Oak requires regular maintenance if not sealed correctly

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before installation, ensure your existing frame is square and level. The 20mm lippings allow you to trim the door to fit non-standard frames, but be careful not to exceed this limit to maintain structural integrity. Since the product is supplied unfinished, you must apply a suitable wood treatment to all six sides—including the top and bottom edges—to prevent warping due to moisture absorption. Use fine-grit sandpaper between coats of finish for a smooth, professional result.
