Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Lacing: Begin by threading the laces through the lowest eyelets, ensuring equal length on both sides. Crisscross the laces over one another, feeding them through the next pair of eyelets from the outside in. Continue this pattern up to the top eyelets. Finish with a secure double knot.
- Initial Fit: When trying them on for the first time, ensure your child's longest toe has about a thumb's width of space between it and the end of the shoe. The heel should feel snug but not restrictive.

Care & Maintenance
Proper care will significantly extend the life and maintain the appearance of your leather shoes:
- Cleaning: Wipe down regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For deeper cleaning, use a leather cleaner following the product's instructions.
- Drying: If wet, stuff the shoes with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can crack the leather.
- Conditioning: Apply a good quality leather conditioner periodically (e.g., monthly, or as needed based on wear) to keep the leather supple and prevent drying or cracking.
- Polishing: Use black shoe polish to cover scuffs and restore shine. Apply a small amount with a cloth, let it dry, then buff to a shine.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape when not in use.
