It is water-resistant, designed to handle light snow or drizzle, but it is not a fully waterproof rain jacket.
No, the hood is stowable into the collar but cannot be detached.
Use a specialized down detergent in a front-loading washer, then tumble dry on low with dryer balls.
The jacket has a relaxed, boxy fit. Many users prefer their standard size for layering, though some size down for a more fitted look.
Yes, the 700-fill down provides significant warmth, though in high winds or wet conditions, a shell layer is recommended.
It features secure zip-closed hand pockets and an interior zippered chest pocket.
Small amounts of shedding are normal for down jackets; gently pull the feather back into the jacket from the inside rather than pulling it out.
The down may be clumped. Tumble dry on low heat with dryer balls to restore loft.
To ensure the longevity of your jacket, avoid storing it compressed for long periods; hang it up to allow the down to loft properly. Use only a front-loading washing machine on a gentle cycle with a dedicated down cleaner, or consider professional cleaning. Always dry the jacket in a tumble dryer on low heat with clean tennis balls or dryer balls to help redistribute the down and prevent clumping. For adjustments, use the Velcro tabs at the wrists to secure the fit around gloves, and use the drawcord at the hem to cinch the jacket tight against wind infiltration.
