Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level. Remove any debris, nails, or old adhesive.
- Unroll the carpet underlay and cut it to size using a sharp utility knife. Allow it to relax for a short period if it has been tightly rolled.
- Lay the underlay onto the subfloor, ensuring the correct side is facing up as per manufacturer instructions (if applicable).
- Fit the pieces of underlay snugly together, taping the seams with appropriate underlay tape to prevent movement.
- Carpet can then be laid directly over the underlay and stretched and secured according to standard carpet installation practices.
Compatibility:
This underlay is compatible with most types of carpet, including cut pile, loop pile, and carpet tiles. It is suitable for use over concrete, wood, and existing resilient flooring subfloors.
Care:
- Vacuum regularly using a standard vacuum cleaner.
- For spills, blot the area immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.
- Professional cleaning is recommended periodically for deep cleaning, following carpet manufacturer guidelines.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the foam.
