FAQs

What type of surface are the PUMA FUTURE 9 ULTIMATE FG boots designed for?

These boots are designed for Firm Ground (FG) and are best suited for use on firm, natural grass pitches.

How does the FUZIONFIT upper enhance performance?

The FUZIONFIT upper is engineered to adapt to your foot like a second skin, providing a locked-in feel that offers stability and freedom of movement, allowing for creative play without restriction.

Can I use these boots on artificial turf?

No, these FG boots are not recommended for artificial turf. Using them on artificial surfaces may lead to suboptimal performance and increase the risk of injury.

What makes the ball control special on these boots?

The boots feature targeted 3D grip zones with GripControl Pro on the upper, providing enhanced control over the ball during dribbling, passing, and shooting.

Are these boots suitable for wide feet?

The FUTURE 9 ULTIMATE offers a regular to wide fit, making them generally suitable for a range of foot widths.

What is the purpose of the 3D Fuzionpods?

The 3D Fuzionpods are integrated into the base layer to cushion the ball while allowing your movement to remain free and natural.

Does this product contain recycled materials?

Yes, the upper of this shoe is made with at least 20% recycled materials.

Troubleshooting

Boots feel too tight or restrictive.

Ensure laces are adjusted for comfort, not overtightened. The FUZIONFIT upper is designed to be adaptive; allow a few training sessions for the material to mold to your foot shape. If persistent, consider if the regular to wide fit suits your foot width.

Reduced ball control or grip.

Ensure the GripControl Pro zones are clean and free from mud or debris. Periodically clean the upper with a damp cloth. Check for any wear and tear on the textured grip areas.

Outsole studs are not providing sufficient traction.

Confirm you are using the boots on the intended firm, natural grass surface. The FLEXGILITY outsole is optimized for this type of pitch. Ensure the studs are free from compacted dirt. If the boots are significantly worn, stud replacement or boot replacement may be necessary.

Foot slipping inside the boot.

Check if the laces are tied securely to engage the PWRTAPE midfoot support. Ensure the sockliner with NanoGrip technology is correctly positioned. The fit is designed to be snug; if slippage persists, it may indicate an incorrect boot size or width for your foot.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional ball control and grip for creative playmaking.
  • Adaptive FUZIONFIT upper provides a secure and comfortable second-skin fit.
  • Designed for 360-degree agility, allowing for rapid directional changes.
  • Lightweight construction enhances natural foot movement.
  • Incorporates sustainable materials in its construction.

Cons

  • Specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches; not suitable for artificial turf or soft ground.
  • May require a break-in period for optimal comfort due to the snug fit.
  • The focus on agility and control might mean less emphasis on cushioning for players preferring a softer feel.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Setup:

  1. Lacing: Ensure the laces are threaded through all eyelets and tied securely but comfortably. The PWRTAPE midfoot aims to lock your foot in, so the lacing should complement this without causing undue pressure.
  2. Sockliner: The removable sockliner with NanoGrip technology should be placed back into the boot as intended to provide optimal grip and comfort.

Compatibility:

  • Surface: These boots are classified as FG (Firm Ground) and are designed for use on firm, natural grass pitches. They are not recommended for artificial grass, hard ground, or very wet/muddy conditions, as the stud configuration may not perform optimally and could increase the risk of injury.

Care:

  • Cleaning: After each use, remove excess dirt and mud with a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners. Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can damage the materials.
  • Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place, preferably in a boot bag, to maintain their shape and prevent damage.
