Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the rim bed is clean, dry, and free from old adhesive or debris.
- Start applying the tape at the opposite end of the valve hole, leaving a small tail.
- Apply with consistent tension, stretching the tape slightly as you go to ensure it conforms to the rim bed. Avoid wrinkles.
- Overlap the tape by at least 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) where the ends meet.
- Cut the tape and firmly press down the overlap.
- Use a spoke nipple or similar tool to carefully puncture the tape through the valve hole. Ensure the valve stem is seated correctly.
Compatibility: This tape is designed to fit most Road, CX, Gravel, MTB, and Plus-sized rims. It is crucial to select the correct width for your rim's internal width to ensure full coverage of the spoke bed and sidewalls.
Care: Keep the roll stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After removing old tape, ensure all adhesive residue is cleaned from the rim before applying new tape. Use isopropyl alcohol or a dedicated adhesive remover for stubborn residue.
