Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care will ensure your Enhanced Living Dallas curtains perform optimally and maintain their appearance for years.
Setup Instructions
- Unpack: Carefully remove the two curtain panels from their packaging.
- Prepare Header: The curtains feature a tape-top header. This means there is a fabric tape sewn across the top, designed to be gathered and attached to hooks.
- Attach Hooks: Insert curtain hooks into the woven pockets on the tape at regular intervals. The spacing of the hooks will determine the fullness of your curtain's pleats. For a standard pleated look, space hooks approximately 3-4 inches apart.
- Hang: Once hooks are attached, hang the curtains onto your chosen curtain track or curtain rings that are compatible with hooks.
- Adjust: Gently pull the cords within the tape-top header to create the desired gather and width for your window. Ensure the gathering is even across both panels for a consistent look.
Compatibility
These curtains are designed with a tape-top header, making them ideal for use with curtain tracks and curtain poles that utilize curtain rings with hooks. They are not directly compatible with eyelet poles or tension rods without additional adapters. If you prefer an eyelet header, consider other variants like 'Austin' (Info needed: confirm product name 'Austin' is correct for eyelet variant).
Care Instructions
To preserve the fabric's quality and functionality, follow these specific care guidelines:
- Washing: Hand wash only. Fill a tub with cool water and a mild detergent, gently agitate the curtains, and rinse thoroughly.
- Bleaching: Do not bleach. Bleach can damage the fabric and alter its color.
- Drying: Do not tumble dry. Hang curtains to drip dry naturally, away from direct sunlight, to prevent shrinkage or damage.
- Ironing: Cool iron on face only. If wrinkles occur, iron on the front (face) side of the fabric with a cool setting. Avoid ironing the blackout lining directly, if possible, to prevent damage.
