FAQs

What does 'Isotex 15000' mean?

Isotex 15000 refers to Regatta's waterproof and breathable fabric technology. '15000' indicates the hydrostatic head rating, meaning it can withstand a column of water 15,000mm high before leaking, and also relates to its breathability rating.

Is the hood adjustable?

The jacket features a grown-on hood which provides coverage but is not typically adjustable.

Can this jacket be worn in cold weather?

The jacket is primarily designed for waterproofing and breathability. For cold weather, layering with a warm fleece or insulated mid-layer underneath is recommended.

How do I know if I have the correct size?

It's best to measure your child's chest and height and compare these to the Regatta sizing chart. The age sizing (e.g., 5-6 years) is a guideline, and actual fit can vary.

Are the pockets waterproof?

The pockets are zipped welt pockets, offering protection from light rain. However, prolonged exposure to heavy rain might allow some moisture ingress, and they are not designed for storing electronics or items that must remain completely dry.

How often should I re-proof the jacket?

Re-proofing is recommended when you notice water is no longer beading off the fabric effectively, typically after several washes or significant wear. Follow the instructions on your chosen reproofing product.

Troubleshooting

Jacket does not feel completely waterproof after washing.

Ensure the jacket has been washed according to instructions, using liquid detergent and avoiding fabric softeners. Consider using a specific reproofer for waterproof garments to restore the DWR finish.

Child feels warm and sweaty inside the jacket.

While the jacket is breathable, ensure the child is not overdressed underneath for the conditions. The Isotex 15000 fabric is designed to allow moisture vapor to escape, but excessive layers can impede this.

Zips are stiff or difficult to use.

Gently clean the zip area with a damp cloth and try lubricating it with a graphite pencil or a silicone-based lubricant designed for outdoor gear. Avoid excessive force.

Specific care instructions needed to maintain waterproof properties.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The Regatta Hanleigh jacket requires no setup. It is ready to wear straight out of the packaging.

Compatibility: This jacket is designed for children and is unisex. The 5-6 years size is tailored for that age group. It can be worn over regular clothing, such as jumpers or t-shirts, depending on the weather.

Care Instructions:

Washing: Machine washable at 40°C. Wash with similar colours.
Detergent: Use a liquid detergent. Do not use powders or biological detergents.
Fabric Softener: Do not use fabric softeners or bleach.
Drying: Tumble dry on a low setting. For best results and to maintain water repellency, line dry if possible.
Re-proofing: To maintain the durable water repellent finish, it is recommended to re-proof the jacket periodically, especially after several washes. Use a specific reproofer suitable for waterproof clothing.
