FAQs

Can I leave this cushion outside all year round?

While the fabric is UV and water-resistant, it is recommended to store the cushion indoors during winter or extreme weather to preserve the foam and fabric quality.

Is this cushion machine washable?

No, it is not recommended to machine wash the cushion as it may damage the quilted stitching and internal foam integrity.

Does this fit other HAY chairs?

This cushion is specifically tailored for the dimensions of the Palissade Lounge Chair and may not provide a proper fit for other models.

What should I do if the cushion gets very wet?

Remove the cushion from the chair, shake off excess water, and allow it to dry thoroughly in an upright position in a shaded, airy spot.

Are the ties long enough to secure to the chair frame?

Yes, the integrated ties are designed to easily reach around the standard frame thickness of the Palissade collection.

Troubleshooting

Cushion sliding during use

Ensure the integrated ties are double-knotted around the metal frame rails to keep the position stable.

Dirt or dust accumulation on the quilt

Gently vacuum the surface using an upholstery attachment or use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry debris.

Minor water spots after a light rain

Shake off excess water and place the cushion in a shaded, well-ventilated area to air dry completely.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup is straightforward: simply align the cushion with the seat and backrest of your Palissade lounge chair and loop the integrated ties around the metal frame, knotting them firmly. This product is exclusively compatible with the HAY Palissade lounge chair collection. To maintain the life of your cushion, spot clean spills immediately with a damp cloth and mild soap. While the material is water-repellent, it is recommended to store the cushion indoors or under a covered area during prolonged periods of heavy rain or winter months to prevent mold and water saturation of the foam interior.
