The New Balance 990v6 Triple Black decks out the sixth version of the NB 990 in an all-black color...The New Balance 990v6 Triple Black decks out the sixth version of the NB 990 in an all-black colorway and a mixed-material upper. Launched to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 990, the 990v6 boasts a sculpted midsole with ENCAP and FuelCell foam cushioning underfoot. The inclusion of FuelCell technology represents the latest evolution of the iconic 990 and helps propel the runner forward. The "Triple Black" colorway allows the sneaker’s technical upgrades to take center stage without distracting colors or motifs. In addition, the deep black hue makes the suede mudguard appear even more velvety against the mesh underlays. Our experts like the reflective accents, which provide visibility in low lighting, and the metallic silver detailing on the heel and insole because they shine when compared to the "Triple Black" colorway. The New Balance 990v6 Triple Black was released on April 16, 2024, and sold for $199. The designers of the first 990 were tasked with creating the single best running shoe on the market. The MADE in USA 990v6 embraces this original mandate, with a series of performance-inspired updates. The upper dispenses with the standard midfoot saddle, allowing the pigskin and synthetic overlays to flow from heel to toe across the mesh underlay, for a speedy, streamlined look. While the evolved design marks one of the most dramatic changes from one generation model to the next that the 990 has ever seen, the greatest leap forward occurs on the inside. The addition of FuelCell midsole cushioning means that the evolution of the 990 can be felt as much as it can be seen. New Balance MADE contains a domestic value of 70% or more. MADE makes up a limited portion of New Balance’s US sales.
