Full details
The Moncler Trailgrip GTX trainers are premium, high-performance sneakers engineered for active adults who need a versatile shoe for both rugged outdoor exploration and sophisticated city wear. These trainers offer the significant benefit of superior weather protection through a GORE-TEX membrane and exceptional traction thanks to Vibram outsoles. While they provide excellent comfort and stability, users should note that the technical construction makes them a specialized investment rather than a casual slip-on sneaker.

FAQs
Are these sneakers truly waterproof?
Yes, they feature a GORE-TEX membrane, which is a gold-standard waterproof technology designed to keep water out while allowing sweat vapor to escape.
Can I use these for intense hiking?
While they are very capable on trails, they are designed as a hybrid trainer for light outdoor activity and city wear rather than heavy-duty mountaineering boots.
How do I clean the shoes?
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. For the insoles, remove them and hand-wash in cold water with mild detergent.
Are the insoles replaceable?
Yes, the OrthoLite insoles are removable and replaceable if you prefer specific custom orthotics.
What is the benefit of the Vibram sole?
Vibram is globally recognized for high-performance rubber compounds that provide superior grip, durability, and traction on various surfaces.
Are these suitable for wide feet?
The Trailgrip GTX follows standard sizing. If you have wider feet, it is recommended to try them on to ensure the structured GORE-TEX construction provides enough width.
Troubleshooting
Insoles feel compressed over time
Remove the OrthoLite insoles and wash them with mild soap and cool water, then let them air dry to restore volume.
Exterior looks dull after outdoor use
Gently clean the nylon and toe cap with a damp cloth and a soft brush to remove dust and debris.
Moisture accumulation inside the shoe
Ensure you are wearing moisture-wicking socks, as GORE-TEX works best when it can transfer interior vapor out through breathable fabric.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Integrated waterproof GORE-TEX technology for all-weather reliability
- High-traction Vibram outsole provides excellent stability on uneven ground
- Breathable and washable OrthoLite insoles for hygiene and comfort
- Lightweight EVA midsole reduces foot fatigue
- Stylish design suitable for both technical trails and urban settings
Cons
- Technical construction may feel firmer than standard lifestyle sneakers
- Requires proper care of specialized synthetic materials
- Investment-grade product may be overkill for light indoor use
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Trailgrip GTX trainers maintain their performance, follow these guidelines. When fitting, ensure you have a comfortable amount of room in the toe box, as GORE-TEX shoes have a specific structured feel. For daily maintenance, wipe down the nylon upper with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt. If the shoes become muddy, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which could warp the synthetic materials. The OrthoLite insoles can be removed and hand-washed with mild soap and cold water; ensure they are completely dry before reinserting them into the shoe.
