How do I adjust the V-TRAX™ carry system for my back length?

Can this pack accommodate a hydration reservoir?

Yes, the Hyperon 65L is compatible with 3-liter hydration bladders and features a dedicated sleeve for it.

Troubleshooting

Pack feels uncomfortable or unbalanced

Re-adjust the back length, hipbelt, shoulder straps, and sternum strap. Ensure weight is packed correctly, with heavier items closer to the back and evenly distributed.

Zippers are stiff or difficult to operate

Ensure zippers are free of dirt and debris. Apply a silicone-based lubricant specifically designed for zippers. Do not force zippers.

Waterproofing seems compromised

Check the fabric coatings for wear. Reapply a suitable DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment to the main fabric if necessary. Ensure the included rain cover is used in heavy precipitation.

Hipbelt feels loose or slips during activity

Ensure the hipbelt is positioned correctly on your iliac crest and tightened securely. If the padding is compressed, ensure it's evenly distributed.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight design for its large capacity.
Excellent organization with multiple easy-access pockets.
Comfortable and stable carry system with pivoting hipbelt.
Durable materials built for harsh conditions.
Versatile fit adjustment options.

Cons

The base weight of 2.605kg might be high for strict ultralight hikers.
While durable, the nylon may not offer the extreme abrasion resistance of some heavier fabrics.
Pivoting hipbelt might require adjustment for optimal performance on very steep, technical ascents.
Only one size for back length adjustment (M-L and L-XL), potentially limiting fit for some body types.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Adjust Back Length: Loosen the hook-and-loop system on the back panel and slide the shoulder harness to match your torso length (M: 19-23" / 48-58cm, L: 21-25" / 53-63cm). Secure the hook-and-loop firmly.
Load Distribution: Pack heavier items close to your back and centered. Lighter, bulkier items can be placed further away. Ensure balanced weight distribution.
Strap Adjustment: Adjust shoulder straps, sternum strap, and hipbelt for a snug, comfortable fit. The hipbelt should rest on your iliac crest.

Compatibility:

Hydration: Compatible with up to 3-liter hydration bladders. Ensure the bladder is securely placed in the designated sleeve.
Trekking Poles: Features dedicated loops or straps for securing trekking poles when not in use.

Care:

Cleaning: Clean the pack using a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing, as this can damage the fabric coatings.
Drying: Always air dry the pack completely in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat or sunlight. Ensure all internal pockets are emptied and dry.
Storage: Store the pack in a cool, dry place, ideally uncompressed, to maintain its shape and material integrity. Ensure the rain cover is clean and dry before storing.
