Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your new Timberland 3-Eye Classic Lug Shoes come ready to wear. The most important 'setup' step is to adjust the 360° rawhide lacing system. To do this:
- Loosen Laces: Fully loosen the laces around the collar and vamp of the shoe.
- Insert Foot: Slide your foot into the shoe comfortably.
- Adjust for Fit: Starting from the toes, gently pull the laces to achieve a snug, yet comfortable fit around your foot. The 360° system allows you to adjust tension around the entire shoe, ensuring a personalized feel. Knot securely.
Compatibility
These versatile shoes are an excellent match for a range of wardrobes:
- Apparel: They pair well with virtually any casual attire, including jeans, chinos, cargo shorts, and even some lightweight linen trousers. For a smart-casual look, consider wearing them with tailored shorts or slacks.
- Occasions: Ideal for daily wear, weekend activities, casual Fridays, and boat excursions.
Care Instructions
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your premium leather shoes, follow these care steps:
- Regular Cleaning: For light dirt or dust, wipe the shoes with a soft, damp cloth. Allow them to air dry naturally, away from direct heat.
- Deep Cleaning (As Needed): For tougher stains or accumulated grime, use a specialized leather cleaner. Apply it according to the product's instructions, usually with a soft brush or cloth, then wipe clean.
- Conditioning: Periodically, apply a high-quality leather conditioner or cream suitable for full-grain leather. This will moisturize the leather, prevent drying and cracking, and maintain its suppleness and sheen. Do not over-condition.
- Protection: While the leather offers some natural resistance, these shoes are not waterproof. Consider using a water and stain protector specifically designed for leather to add an extra layer of defense against moisture and spills.
- Storage: When not in use, store your shoes in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees to help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
