The HOKA Bondi 9 is an ultra-cushioned road running trainer designed for adult male runners seeking maximum comfort and support during daily miles. It offers a premium, plush ride thanks to a newly engineered midsole foam and increased stack height, making it an excellent choice for high-mileage training; however, its substantial cushioning profile may feel too bulky for runners who prefer a more minimal, lightweight ground feel.

No, the Bondi 9 is constructed with a breathable knit upper that is designed for ventilation, not water resistance.
The Bondi 9 is specifically engineered as a road trainer. While they can handle light gravel paths, they are not intended for technical or rocky trails.
You should aim for about a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe to allow for foot swelling during long runs.
The Bondi 9 is generally accommodating, but HOKA does offer specific 'EE' and 'EEEE' wide variants if the standard 'D' width feels too constrictive.
Lightweight, synthetic or merino wool running socks are recommended to complement the breathability of the knit upper.
Adjust your lacing technique to a runner's loop at the top eyelet to secure the 3D molded collar more firmly.
Avoid running on rough, rocky trails or off-road terrain, as the knit upper is designed for road use.
To ensure your Bondi 9s last, perform a quick "break-in" period of short walks or light jogs to allow the foam to adapt to your foot strike. Compatibility is best with neutral to slightly supinated foot strikes on road surfaces.
