Full details
The KONG Cat Luvs Lizard is designed for high-energy cats who enjoy active, full-body play, such as wrestling and bunny-kicking. FAQs
Is this toy safe for kittens?
It is safe for most kittens, but its large size may be better suited for adult cats or larger breeds.
Can I replace the catnip inside?
No, the catnip is sealed within the toy. Once the scent fades, you can use a catnip spray on the surface to revive it.
Is the lizard machine washable?
No, machine washing can damage the internal crinkle mechanism. Spot cleaning is recommended.
What is the primary purpose of the lizard?
It is designed for active, full-body play like wrestling and kicking, as well as comforting snuggle sessions.
Does it contain batteries?
No, the crinkle sound is generated by material inside the toy, requiring no electronics or batteries.
Troubleshooting
Cat shows no interest in the toy
Try dragging the tail or head across the floor to mimic prey movement or rub fresh catnip on the exterior to renew interest.
Crinkle sound has faded
The crinkle material is mechanical; ensure the toy has not been compressed under heavy furniture, which can flatten the internal sound-producing film.
Toy is covered in debris
Use a lint roller to gently remove surface hair and dust from the textured fabric.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Durable construction suitable for energetic wrestling
- Engages multiple senses with texture and sound
- Encourages natural exercise through kicking and batting
- Doubles as a comfortable plush toy for resting
Cons
- Larger size might be too heavy for very small cats
- Crinkle sound may be too loud for skittish pets
- Not intended for chewing as a primary dental aid
Setup, Compatibility & Care
No complex setup is required; simply remove the packaging and introduce the toy to your cat. The lizard is compatible with all cat breeds, though best suited for adult cats who enjoy active engagement. To keep the toy clean, it is recommended to spot-clean with a damp cloth if it becomes soiled with saliva or food. Do not machine wash, as this can degrade the internal crinkle material and the potency of the catnip. Store the toy in an airtight container between sessions if you wish to preserve the freshness and strength of the catnip scent for a longer duration.
