Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Wear: Before embarking on long hikes, it is recommended to wear the Quest Echo GTX boots for shorter walks to allow them to break in and conform to your foot shape. Ensure the lacing system is adjusted for a snug but not overly tight fit, with more tension in the lower section and a secure tie at the top eyelets.
Compatibility: These boots are designed for hiking and backpacking. They are compatible with most types of hiking socks and gaiters.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud with a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid using harsh detergents or solvents.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or campfires, as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Waterproofing Maintenance: Periodically, you may need to reapply a waterproofing treatment suitable for leather and synthetic materials, following the product's instructions, to maintain the GORE-TEX performance.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place when not in use, preferably with good ventilation.
